Orientation

The sheaths can have a knife pointed practically anywhere, but with some knives it makes more sense to have it one way rather than another. Sheaths can have the knife riding tip-up or tip-down (or blade spine up or down in horizontal, canted and cross-draw sheaths). For knives with opening disks, cobra hoods and wave feature it is important to keep them oriented so that those things end up on the outside of the sheath for an easy draw.

Example 1: Spyderco ATR (with cobra hood)

Example 2: Gunting (blade spine up and blade spine down)
